About this calculator

What it does

Sizes futures positions so a trade's dollar risk stays inside your risk budget. Pick an instrument, set your account size and risk, enter a stop — it returns the number of contracts, or lets you set contracts and see the resulting risk. Built for quick use alongside your charts during the session. It ports (and fixes) a battle-tested spreadsheet; the math is verified by 1,757 automated checks on every page load.

Your data

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent, stored, or seen by any server — there are no accounts, no analytics, no cookies. So you don't have to re-enter your settings each time, the app saves them (account size, risk, instrument, stop) in your browser's local storage — a small store on your device that only this site can read and that never leaves your machine. Clear it anytime via your browser settings.

Who built it

A Stratinator tool. Not financial advice — position sizing math only; trading futures involves substantial risk.
